Help / Building a blend

Dose limits explained

The customer maximum, the internal maximum, what each tier can do, and why a "+" sometimes stops.

EveryoneUpdated 15/09/2026

Every ingredient in the catalogue has a daily minimum, a step, and a customer maximum. Some also have a higher internal maximum for professional use. The editor shows the limit that applies to you and will not save a line outside it.

Two ceilings

  • Customer maximum. The most a customer can choose for themselves on yutrients.com. Affiliates stop here — a shareable blend is bought by people we know nothing about, so the customer's limit is the blend's limit. The row says "Shareable blends stop at the recommended maximum".

  • Internal maximum. Where an ingredient has one, a Partner may go up to it. Anything above the customer maximum gets an amber chip, "Above customer max (practitioner range)", and the blend is flagged for our nutritionist. The chip is a note, not a block. If an ingredient has no internal maximum, the customer maximum is the ceiling for everyone.

The base counts

Limits apply to the total daily amount of an ingredient, including whatever is already in the base. When you add an ingredient the base already contains, the row spells it out: "+100 mg on top of 300 mg in base = 400 mg". The stepper's ceiling is the tier limit less the base's share, so the total can never be stepped past the limit.

Steps and the grid

Amounts move in fixed steps from the minimum. A typed value that lands between steps rounds down to the nearest one. A line below the minimum or off the grid shows a red chip and blocks the save.

"Not available at this amount"

Not every amount on the grid is made yet. When the one you chose is not, the editor says so and offers the nearest we do make — press Use X mg to jump to it. A raised internal maximum can take a little while to become available at the top of its range; if the amount is allowed but not yet made, wait for it or take the nearest.

The rules are in section 6 of the programme terms.
