Bases and add-ons
What a base is, how add-ons stack on top of it, and what "no base" means for the price.

A blend is a base, add-ons, or both.
A base
A base is one of our fixed recipes — a set of ingredients at set amounts, with a price of its own. Pick one from the base picker and the editor shows what is in it. You cannot change a base's own lines; you build on top of them.
Add-ons
Add-ons are the ingredients you add, each priced by its amount. With a base, the section is headed On top of the base; without one, Ingredients. The price panel adds the base's price and every add-on's share and shows the total for each plan.
The same ingredient twice
If an add-on is already in the base, the row shows the combined amount — "+100 mg on top of 300 mg in base = 400 mg" — and the limit applies to that total. See Dose limits explained.
No base
"From scratch" means no fixed recipe: the blend is your add-ons only, and the price is the sum of their shares. There is no minimum number of ingredients, but a blend must have a base or at least one add-on before it can be saved or sent.
A base that is no longer offered
We change the catalogue from time to time. A preset or a draft built on a base we have since retired shows This base is no longer available when you open it. Pick another base, or none, and the lines you added stay as they were.
